The fight against modern human trafficking

      EuroDEMOS is an Association of Civic Attitudes specialized in the last 18 years of voluntary activity in the development of democratic programs at the level of masses and target groups, for the defense of human rights, democratic values, European principles and community development.EuroDEMOS Association launches the cross-border project “What do you dream of? Where do you end up? Project for information, education and prevention of modern human trafficking ”which will take place under the auspices of the European Union and in partnership with the Generation III Millennium Public Organization of the Republic of Moldova. The project started on September 13, 2008 and will run for a period of 12 months, both in the country (in the counties of Iasi, Botosani) and in the Republic of Moldova (Falesti District). The project mentioned above is funded by the European Union through the Phare CBC 2006 Program.
The project is addressed to local communities in Iasi, Botosani, Falesti counties, but also to public authorities and institutions involved in the fight against human trafficking.
During its 12-month period, the project includes:
Cross-border mass information campaign,A Cross-Border Center for the Prevention of Modern Trafficking in Human Beings,Preparing a nucleus of citizens of the Republic of Moldova as specialists in the fields that traffickers use as a public recruitment screen, for the creation of the legal framework necessary for the prevention of modern human trafficking in the Republic of Moldova,A Common Strategy for the Prevention of Modern Trafficking in Human Beings and a Network of Sustainable Cross-Border Partnerships.The project will include conferences, public debates, cross-border seminars with specialized partner authorities, training programs, trainings for informing and educating citizens on modern human trafficking that is based on legislative and information gaps.The conclusions of the public debates in which public authorities and institutions will participate as well as the common cross-border strategy for the prevention of modern human trafficking will be communicated to the social actors involved in the prevention of modern human trafficking through informative publications and the project website.
